I am the soothsayer Divination be my trade I am the beast slayer Take heed the prophecies I’ve made I speak of truths and chance Wisdom imparted to my soul In blood of sheep or hen Severed liver oracle I am the one to whom the gods allow this wizardry Men of Rome, bestow me gold, predict your destinies I speak but truth as instrument upon my tepid breath A truth from fates, unswayed by need, just fortune, life, or death Entrails of sacrifice Splayed out upon the holy ground Tell tales of peace and strife All lives unto these fates are bound Powers of prophecy Granted from Roman gods on high Concoct new remedies And omens pulled from birds in flight I am the one to whom the gods allow this wizardry Men of Rome, bestow me gold, predict your destinies I speak but truth as instrument upon my tepid breath A truth from fates, unswayed by need, just fortune, life, or death Behold betraying hearts Jealous men unclean The grave they shall impart Manifest from jealousy Begrudging men of status forego diplomacy Bring violence from their hands To force their destiny Resentment uncontrolled Power stranglehold Leaves liberty disemboweled So let our tragedy unfold I am the one to whom the gods allow this wizardry Men of Rome, bestow me gold, predict your destinies I speak but truth as instrument upon my tepid breath A truth from fates, unswayed by need, just fortune, life, or death I speak but truth as instrument upon my tepid breath A truth from fates, unswayed by need, just fortune, life, or death

The Ides 07:13
The Fates Stand on the horizon Can we save us from ourselves? Embrace My words Fortune, life, or death Take heed My words And all those around you Beware Beware Beware the ides of Caesar! Dark whispers hover on the wind Evil, ambitious, claiming you’ll be king But Cassius avows the truth that I speak That Caesar is sickly, feeble, and weak Call brave Brutus into the fold For we have heard what the soothsayer told Dear Brutus, humor my plea What makes frail Caesar more kingly than thee? Offered the crown thrice by Antony I will not abide on bended knee The gods cast down their eyes on Rome As Senate places tyrant to throne I’d take a knife to my own throat Mark these words, for this truth that I spoke Caesar cannot be king! Caesar cannot be king! Caesar cannot be king! Caesar cannot be king! Ascension to the crown fills the heart with pride And flames the embers of the hate inside By the sword bring an end to the man on high Send Brutus to the fore, prosper by his side Cautelous avarice tyranny Cowardice suffering treachery Cogitate mandatory mutiny On this dark night of conspiracy All my engagements I construe to thee That we as men have authority To end this Roman calamity Caesar cannot be Beware the ides of Caesar cannot be Beware the ides of Caesar cannot be Beware the ides of Caesar cannot be king! Beware the ides of March!

I am at war Internal struggle creeping dread I must reflect On dark designs inside my head I cannot rest Hideous dreams haunt me at night A dreadful choice To love a friend or do what’s right What deed has Caesar done to warrant knife to throat? Are these deeds overspun for gain of wealth and clout? What sets my path in light? This man can’t be king Before he sets to flight, we’ll clip the eagle’s wings As fate decrees Decisions rest not in my hands The stars shall guide Manage these lives whose paths are planned Implore the gods Bestow me strength and make me bold This path I tread Leads not to power, fame, nor gold But protect Rome Foresee the change that we might bring In this revolt Defy the one who might be king What deed has Caesar done to warrant knife to throat? Are these deeds overspun for gain of wealth and clout? What sets my path in light? This man can’t be king Before he sets to flight, we’ll clip the eagle’s wings It must be death Agreed upon in secret schemes I plot this course And in so calm my troubled dreams My final muse Call on these friends and gather ‘round Time pleads for Caesar in the ground The ambition Caesar’s shown must answer to the blade Preserve all that is Rome, on that I will not sway I set this path tonight to end a would-be king Before he sets to flight, we’ll clip the eagle’s wings Before he sets to flight, we’ll clip the eagle’s wings

As madness steals the night And traitors fill the streets A worried woman cries At visions that she sees A bloody lioness feasts On bones and flesh of dead No heart within the beast Vengeance in its stead Premonition of death Priests call the sacrifice On bloody Capitol steps Foretold to Caesar thrice Cowards die by day And Caesar fears no death He holds the gods in shame Hero till final breath Death look into these eyes What dangers should they see? Death comes for all in time The dangers all fear me Fates gnash their sharpened teeth And fountains vomit bile Ghosts shriek in empty streets The coming of this trial For men in jealousy And murder in their eyes Show Earth is not at peace And all of Rome shall cry See all of Heaven wail Stone steps run blood today Exposing human entrails Laid open by the blade Beware of Brutus Take heed of Cassius Come not near Casca or Cinna Trust not Trebonius Mark well Decius Love not Caius or Cimber Cowards die by day And Caesar fears no death He holds the gods in shame Hero till final breath Death look into these eyes What dangers should they see? Death comes for all in time The dangers all fear me Beware of Brutus Take heed of Cassius Come not near Casca or Cinna Cowards die by day And Caesar fears no death He holds the gods in shame Hero till final breath Trust not Trebonius Mark well Decius Love not Caius or Cimber Death look into these eyes What dangers should they see? Death comes for all in time The dangers all fear me Beware of Brutus Caesar fears no death Take heed of Cassius Hero till final breath Trust not Trebonius Death look into these eyes Mark well Decius Death comes for all in time Love not Caius What dangers should they see? Keep eyes on Cimber The dangers all fear me The Fates will gnash their teeth And traitors fill the streets I beg thee now retreat Great Caesar, take heed!

The Fall 02:50
The time has come for tethered flesh And blood shall run on Senate steps First feign to honor and humble bend Then band like brothers to Caesar’s end Let blade through flesh fulfill the ides The blood is spilt and Caesar’s died Et tu, Brute! Proclaim it to the streets that Caesar’s dead Peacefulness and freedom for all instead Citizens, Senators hold no dread To kill the snake you must remove the head Liberty Freedom Redemption Tyranny has died! But citizens stare and cry and flee Then comes word from Mark Antony Looking for a sense of honesty On the meaning of this calamity Mark Antony our blades be dull We have no need to spill more blood Our hands now shake in brotherhood These moves we made for common good Proclaim it to the streets that Caesar’s dead Peacefulness and freedom for all instead Citizens, Senators hold no dread To kill the snake you must remove the head Pardon me thou bleeding soil These men shall ache for burial Stand with me servants of my sorrow Rise men of Rome to war tomorrow Proclaim it to the streets that Caesar’s dead Mutiny and havoc stand in his stead This foulest of deeds fills Rome with dread I cannot let this treason go unmet Butchery Bloodshed Murderers Let slip the dogs of war!

Eulogy 04:45
Friends, Romans, Countrymen I came Not to Honor Caesar But to Place him In the ground Caesar Accused of grievous faults Ambitiousness exalt Thus suffered this assault For Brutus is an honorable man For Brutus is an honorable man Caesar For the poor he mourned And thrice denied the crown Did holy Rome no wrong Yet Brutus is an honorable man Yet Brutus is an honorable man Romans Ambition was his sin So these men have pinned But Romans look within Is Brutus still an honorable man? Is Brutus still an honorable man? These brutish beasts thought fit to judge Have all men lost their reason? My heart now weeps at Caesar’s death And rages at this treason Their homes shall burn, their bodies splayed As Rome arise her legions Forgotten then to history The butchers of mighty Caesar Hear me His will included you Allow me to review What shall you have me do? Caesar was an honorable man Caesar was an honorable man Treason To their homes set fire These men of dark conspire For whom is the real liar? Brutus is no honorable man Brutus is no honorable man Friends, Romans, Countrymen Lend me your ears Brutus is no honorable man Brutus is no honorable man

Vengeance 03:27
War! Brutus! I shall not sleep ‘Till you meet Your doom! I damn you now with the mark of a spot And death shall be your final lot Your allegiance now to hollow men Shall lead to your deserved end Meet me on the plains of Philippi I’ll cut you down and end your legacy I’ve slain a hundred Senators in your name And history knows where to place the blame Brutus! The hole you made in Caesar’s heart And this horrid rebellion you thought you’d start Brings nothing to Rome but the stench of death And an army of conspirators to their final breaths Come down from the hills to the even field Have you the courage and the swords to yield Like you thrust vile daggers into Caesar’s side Villains, like dogs you are picked to die Meet me on the plains of Philippi I’ll cut you down and end your legacy I’ve slain a hundred Senators in your name And history knows where to place the blame Brutus! I damn you now with the mark of a spot And death shall be your final lot Your allegiance now to hollow men Shall lead to your deserved end The hole you made in Caesar’s heart And this horrid rebellion you thought you’d start Brings nothing to Rome but the stench of death And an army of conspirators to their final breaths Prepare the generals for glorious battle Stir not until my final signal This day so marks a fitting sentence “Hail Caesar!” shout my final vengeance “Hail Caesar!” shout my final vengeance “Hail Caesar!” shout my final vengeance “Hail Caesar!” shout my final vengeance!

Nona, Decima, Morta The Fates personified Ride upon this mortal coil With mischief in their eyes Men may spit and spin and rail Against the cursed sky Destiny, dispassionate Shall turn away their cries For what are men but puppets In a play controlled by Fate Each life a mere amusement Viewed by gods at Heaven’s gate So twisted by desires Consumed by love and hate These puppets’ fates determined On a wiping of the slate So come, you fatal creatures, your tragedies we sing Conspiracy and jealousy of one who might be king So, what to learn from this dark tale? What lesson to attend? Be cautious those around you When unknown if foe or friend For man will pray on man For ambition’s own intend Stay strong, acute, and wary Or risk a mirrored end Brutus hoaxed to take up arms And with him death to bring Caesar slain as was foretold The Fates see everything Brutus tricked by flattery His arrogance outpoured Through loftiness and treachery His death was but ensured Then on the field of battle when vengeance rose and roared His final breath sang “Caesar” as he lay upon his sword So, what to learn from this dark tale? What lesson to attend? Be cautious those around you When unknown if foe or friend For man will pray on man For ambition’s own intend Stay strong, acute, and wary Or risk a mirrored end What to learn from this dark tale? What lesson to attend? Be cautious those around you When unknown if foe or friend For man will pray on man For ambition’s own intend Stay strong, acute, and wary Or risk a mirrored end

about

A death metal retelling of William Shakespeare's tragic play, Julius Caesar. As beautiful as it is brutal, Julius Caesar tells a story of greed, envy, betrayal, murder, and a lust for power that destroys all consumed by it. Perfect subject matter for a death metal album.
